12-Step Recovery

Grace Church feels strongly that we are called to support and encourage people who are in recovery – specifically those who are recovering from addictions, and their families.  We feel particularly called to support people in recovery spiritually, and Grace Church is a place where people can feel safe, welcomed and embraced, wherever they are on their spiritual journey.
There are AA meetings at Grace every day of the week at various times. Meetings are held in a dedicated space — our Lower Lewis Hall meeting room. Lewis Hall is located adjacent to the church and parking is behind the building and behind the church. This lower level is climate controlled, comfortable and equipped with a private restroom, kitchen area for coffee and snack preparation, large main meeting room and a small conference/meditation room.
We understand that when people in 12 Step programs get serious about Step 11 ("Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood him, praying only for knowledge of his will for us and the power to carry that out.") , they are often looking for some spiritual guidance.  We also understand that some people in recovery feel drawn to explore (or re-visit) God, Jesus and the Christian tradition. For those who find themselves interested, or just curious about what our church may have to offer in terms of a deepening relationship with God, everyone is welcome. Church events of interest include a special Recovery Liturgy once a month and our weekly Sunday worship at 12:00 noon. Grape juice is always offered at the Eucharist at Grace. Grace Church is an open minded and accepting place for people to show up just as they are and a safe place to ask all life's hardest and deepest questions.
Church events that may be of interest to the recovery community are always posted on the general AA Announcement board in the Parish Hall, as well as here on our website. Like us on facebook to get all the latest updates.
The church building at Grace is open 24/7 for prayer and meditation and all are invited to come into the church, light a candle and be at peace.
